New Hampshire Fastroads Announces Board of Directors

Organization to bring broadband telecommunications infrastructure to
New Hampshire’s Monadnock and Upper Valley Regions

KEENE, NH – Jan. 4, 2011 – New Hampshire FastRoads, LLC, an organization bringing high-speed broadband to New Hampshire’s Monadnock and Upper Valley regions, announced the formation of its board of directors today.

NH FastRoads is a collaboration of the New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority, the Monadnock Economic Development Corporation, and the 43 towns and cities of the Monadnock and Upper Valley regions. NH FastRoads is partnering with Network New Hampshire Now (NNHN), a collaboration of public and private organizations to develop a high-speed broadband network throughout the state.

NH FastRoads and NNHN are funded by an economic stimulus grant and private funding to expand broadband coverage to keep the state vibrant, innovative and relevant for businesses, citizens and educational institutions. NH FastRoads’ mission is to ensure that homes, businesses and institutions of the region have the best Internet infrastructure to support jobs and sustainable economic development. The organization’s work will enable delivery of a variety of services such as consumer and business Internet access, voice telephony (VoIP), IP-based television, movies on demand, business class videoconferencing, health care services (e.g. in home monitoring), home and business security, computer backup, public access television, Internet radio, and many other advanced services.

Members of the newly elected NH FastRoads board of directors include:

  • Julia N. Griffin, Town Manager, Town of Hanover – Chairwoman
  • Robert Bruce, resident of Hanover, NH and former General Counsel of the FCC – Vice Chairman
  • Bob Elliott, Chief Financial Officer, Monadnock Economic Development Corporation – Treasurer
  • Jessie W. Levine, Town Administrator, Town of New London – Secretary
  • Carlotta Lilback Pini, Town Administrator, Town of Rindge
  • Steven P. Schneider, Town Manager, Town of Enfield
  • John G. Dugan, President, Monadnock Economic Development Corporation
  • Rebecca Landry, IMS Director, City of Keene
